1. Newblog2011: 08/31/11 Men Don't Get Treated The Way That I've Been Treated
Yesterday, when I wrote the blog page, 7. Newblog2011: 08/30/11 Notes I took about businesses that seem to show support for child molestation and sexual harassment around Boston , MA , I thought about writing “August 28, 2011” in the subtitle, instead of 08/28/11. I chose not to do so. I always write the date with numbers in the title, and that was a subtitle.
I think that I usually write out the dates at the beginning and the end of the things that I write. For example, at the top of everything I wrote online yesterday, I wrote “August 30, 2011,” which is what I usually write before the name of the blog page, even though in the title of the blog page on Weebly, I usually write the date with numbers. I don’t always give titles to what I write anywhere but on Weebly, where the individual pages necessitate titles to have any chance of finding material again once it’s written. Then, at the end of the blog page, or section, I usually write out the date again, in the copyright notice.
That’s the format that I would have used if I had written anything on August 28, 2011, or 08/28/11, which was a Sunday. I didn’t write anything on that day because, as I’ve said several times now, I don’t have Internet access on Sundays. I also don't always get a chance to use the notes I write on the day that I write them; there are other things that I've been needing to write also. It's not infrequent that I write about things that happened a few days ago, or a week ago. I write about things when I get the chance to do so. Some of the other things I need to write about are going to take longer than those notes did, or the notes need to be re-organized, or I need to go back out and find out if the information is the same as it was when I first took the notes. I'm not done with the notes that I took on Sunday yet, either, but the way I'd written them when I first took them made it possible for me to get some of it done in a short amount of time yesterday.
Sunday was a good day for me to go out and take some notes about things I had seen around. I had gotten some blank sheets of paper earlier in the week, which were very helpful; I've used those up now. In addition to the library being closed, the day shelters that I’ve used for things such as making phone calls were also closed, as they usually are. There wasn’t any way to do things related to work search, housing, or anything else.
Even though a state of emergency had been declared in anticipation of the storm, there were some rain and wind in the first part of the day, and in the afternoon it was much like any other grey day in Boston . It definitely wasn’t raining too much for me to take notes for a few hours. Neither was I the only person out and about.
Yesterday, I wrote on my WordPress blog, realnames1, that I have realized that there’s nothing I can do to avoid being abused by the big harassers and by those who follow the example of the big harassers. Even if I could avoid being abused, the constant threat of abuse for things that are really unreasonable is a form of abuse.
Men don’t get treated the way that I’ve been treated. I’m not saying that men should get treated the way that I’ve been treated; nobody should be getting treated the way I’ve been treated.
Sunday was 08/28/11. That was the date on that day
