14. Newblog2011: 09/08/11 Even more privacy violations by The New York Times, the U.S. postal service, and G-d knows who else
A couple of weeks ago, my glasses broke. I got them replaced at an eyewear company that has a program for homeless people.
A few days ago, I sent a thank you note to the store where I'd gotten the glasses. I didn't put an individual's name on the outgoing address, I put the name and location of the store.
Today, the first name of the person who helped me in the store is on the front page of the paper version of the New York Times.
I couldn't do anything about the store's involvement in promoting any issue. They could get the glasses for me the next day. The program at the Pine Street Inn wouldn't have had them ready for a month and a half to two months.
