3. Newblog2011: 07/29/11 The Merchants Bank
I AM AGAINST CHILD MOLESTATION. I AM AGAINST SEXUAL HARASSMENT OF AND BY ANY GENDER. I AM AGAINST DOMINATION BY ONE GENDER OVER ANOTHER GENDER, REGARDLESS OF WHICH GENDER IT IS. I AM AGAINST THE EXECUTIONS AND/OR CONTINUED IMPRISONMENT OF THE PRISONERS IN IRAN.
IN REGARD TO EVERY ISSUE THAT I DESCRIBE ON THIS BLOG PAGE; I OPPOSE THE OPINIONS AND BEHAVIOR OF THE PEOPLE WHO ARE FOR THOSE ISSUES.
I haven’t been spending a lot of time in Barre, VT. I’ve been going into Montpelier almost every day for a few weeks, and only going back to Barre to the shelter at the end of the day.
The Merchants Bank in Vermont has been my bank for a few years. I have to have a bank; everyone has to be able to use a bank.
This morning, I went to the branch of the Merchants Bank that’s in Barre. On the door of what seemed to be the manager’s office, I saw the following sign:
“Vermont Matters
We’re proud to be the bank for Hampton Direct”
There are logos and graphics on the rest of the sign, including:
“Twin Draft Guard—As Seen on TV”
“Total Pillow” (That’s in red, with a pair of little legs such as child’s legs in the pyjamas that have feet on them might look. You can only see the legs and not the rest of the body because the legs look as if they’re hanging from the "Hampton Direct" section in the middle of the page. The next graphic over shows 4 penises, with a little sign to the right of them that says “wonder hangers.”
The top left corner of the poster shows strands of pearls.
Most of the graphics that I’ve described are in the background of the poster, but everything I’ve described is visible once you’re a couple of feet away from it.
I went to the “Vermont Matters: Merchants Bank” website. It has six pictures on the first page. If you hover the mouse over one of the pictures, it flips as if it were an index card and tells more specifically what the picture is of and about:
--Three schoolchildren reading from what look like notes for a presentation, with computers in the front part of the picture and a sign behind them that says “The World”
--A picture of a man with a red jacket and a red baseball hat on, who looks as if he’s coaching a girls’ sports team. I didn’t play the videos for any of the pictures; I’m not sure it’s necessary, since the message of the picture is not difficult to understand. Also, I don’t have my own computer, or sound on this computer, and I’m in a library.
--A picture of an older woman in a turquoise shirt
--A picture of a man in a red helmet in a story about trees; that one has a caption at the top that says “New” and “02”.
--Something that says “Meatball Magic”. That one also has a caption that says “New”, and the number for it is “04”. When you hover the mouse over it and it turns to the other side, it says “Hampton Direct”, story 4 of 14.
--The picture next to it is number “06,” and shows a road sign that says:
“Highgate
Elem. School
Canada 8
Morses Line 7”
The other side of the card says it’s about the town of Highgate, Vermont.
I don’t know how the other pictures are numbered; the top of the computer screen is cut off.
