2. Newblog2011: 08/15/11 2 Boston Public Health Commission Shelters and 2 disappearances
When there are too many people for the Woods Mullen intake shelter in Boston to house overnight, the shelter sends people on a bus to the Long Island Shelter in Boston Harbor.
I realized the day before yesterday that both times that I’ve been to a Boston Public Health Commission shelter, there were police there when I got there and another resident was taken away.
The second time was as I described it. It happened on the evening of August 12, 2011, after I had gotten to the Woods Mullen shelter in Boston. Earlier in the day, on August 12, 2011, I had written again about how terrible it can be to have a psychiatric history, how badly you get treated.
I wrote about the woman who was taken from the women's dorm at the Woods Mullen shelter on Weebly on August 13, 2011.
The first time someone was taken was my first night in Boston. I took the bus out to the Long Island Shelter. On the way there, I had a conversation with a man who was probably in his 60’s. He was occasionally rude, but when he was I ignored him for a while and he got better. We talked for most of the journey, and other people on the bus talked to him and also to me.
Soon after we got to the Long Island shelter, which, like most of the shelters that I've stayed at so far, had "Wet Floor" signs in a number of places where there was no wet floor, I heard a man yelling “NO!! NO!!”
I looked out in the hallway and saw the older, homeless man being taken into an elevator at the back of the shelter by the police and by some people who were possibly psychiatric workers.
On the bus back from Long Island shelter the next morning, I saw that part of the middle of the highway had a long line of orange and white “Caution” barrels on it, with a police car parked in the left lane.
The barrels all said “LIDDELL” on them. In smaller print, they said “Brothers".
I wonder if someone in Boston or someone who influences some of what happens in Boston has been trying to send me a message.
