Instead of doing anything to discourage the noise and gesture harassment in the room that has the public access computers, the Boston Public Library has put a shaded glass barrier up around the room, everywhere that would otherwise show the room to anyone who's in another part of the library, or walking by.
The only part of the area that's still visible to anyone walking by is the section of floor that people walk through to get to another part of the library, and the end of the glass wall, where the staff desk is, which goes nowhere except up a staircase.
