6. Newblog2011: 07/24/11 At the bus stop, Part 1
More notes from today, that I first wrote on paper @ 2:49 p.m.
I was at the bus stop, about to change my shoes.
Here's a word about my shoes and clothing.
One of the reasons that I've been extra itchy in addition to being outside where there are mosquitoes, ants, and other insects a lot more often than most people are is that I've stayed covered up most of the time. In addition to being the soul of modesty with long pants, long skirts, and always at least a t-shirt, without even having worn a tank top once this summer, I've worn socks and sneakers for two summer months during which I usually wear nothing but flat sandals if I'm wearing shoes.
In addition to the reasons I've already given for not exposing any skin, such as my insecurities about how I look and because of the big harassers' campaign to brand me as a slut while I'm living in a small town where I could have been killed, a major reason that I haven't worn sandals often or gone barefoot is that those are not the best fight-or-flight footwear options.
I never really know what's going to happen throughout the day, if I'll have to run away from someone, run for help or do my best to defend myself. So far, I haven't had to do too much of any of those, but there have been situations that could have turned into one or all of those things, and that's bad.
It's also very unpleasant to wear all of that in the summer. That's another reason why I'm often in a bad mood.
