4. Newblog2011: 08/15/11 The Old South Church and The Women's Lunch Place
The Old South Church is across the street from the Boston Public Library, and that's where I was going. It's where I've been going at times during the day since I got to Boston.
It is the temporary home of the Women's Lunch Place, which has day services for homeless and impoverished women.
For the first time, there is, today, a bucket on a side table in the lobby of the Old South Church. The bucket says "DAMP MOP" on it.
There's a rainbow-colored umbrella by itself in the coat rack in front of the entrance to the room that has the Women's Lunch Place in it.
Lunch today at the Women's Lunch Place is "Rainbow salad." Dessert is an ice cream sandwich, and someone also drew a picture of dripping leaves at the top of the dry erase board that has the day's menu on it.
There is at least one child here today. I heard her say to one of the Women's Lunch Place workers, with no preamble from either of them, "Dazzle me."
Thank G-d, the worker immediately said "What do you mean?" in a very serious tone.
The little girl didn't know; I heard her say a couple of times " 'Dazzle me' means....it means...."
