4. Newblog2011: 08/30/11 Where does the money go?
Today, the first page of the online Burlington Free Press is covered with stories about the supposed damage done to the state by Irene.
I thought the caption after “ Waterbury ” was funny, in the context of this macabre situation; it’s a quote that says “I can’t even put a dollar figure on this.” And yet, I bet they’ll try.
I would say that probably some of the FEMA and state aid that’s going to go to people as a result of the storm will be legitimate and will help with legitimate damage, and that much of that aid will not be legitimate and is nothing but pay-out to people who are willing to be part of the harassment, and who are also willing to use the discussion of the money to exert pressure on people who are reluctant to be part of what's going on.
I think that’s too bad, especially since the Obama administration and others who endorse sexual harassment and child molestation are simultaneously insisting that the only way for public schools to get the funding that they need is to turn the students in those schools over to corporations who want to turn all of the students into sex slaves.
